Rangers legend Kris Boyd admits he is baffled by the treatment of both Scott Wright and Glen Kamara with the Ibrox duo in limbo ahead of the close of the transfer window.
We are at August 12th – less than three weeks until the deadline – and there is still no clarity surrounding the future of two of Rangers’ senior players.
Mick Beale confirmed late last month that Rangers had ‘accepted’ a £500,000 bid from Pendikspor for Scott Wright. A proposed move to Turkey fell through, however, and Wright suddenly found himself back on the Ibrox pitch, coming off the bench during Wednesday’s 2-1 victory over Servette in the Champions League qualifiers.
Beale has since indicated that Wright may now be staying beyond September.

Kamara, meanwhile, was conspicuous by his absence when the Swiss outfit came to town. A handful of big-name clubs are reportedly interested – Lyon, Leeds United and Borussia Monchengladbach – but the Finland international appears no closer to discovering where he will be plying his trade in 2022/23.
And the situation facing both players leaves a rather bitter taste in Boyd’s mouth.
Rangers have decisions to make
“I question the way things have been done recently in terms of outgoings,” Boyd tells the Scottish Sun. “Scott Wright was also told a few weeks ago to find a new club. And yet he’s been included in the European squad, and came off the bench against Servette.
“That makes no sense whatsoever.
“I also can’t get my head around what’s happened with Glen Kamara, who was a standout before. He’s not even in the building any more.
“Why?”
One of the first names on the team sheet during the Steven Gerrard era; Kamara started only one of Rangers’ final 12 league games of 2022/23. He was left out of the squad against both Kilmarnock and Servette too.
Moises Caicedo’s potential £100 million-plus move from Brighton to Chelsea could complicate matters further for the one-time Arsenal youngster, the Ecuadorian’s record-breaking transfer sending ripples through the market.
